I think this makes a lot of sense for Microsoft. Why spend the extra resources to have a development team reinvent the wheel (and maintain it) when you can use the same framework as Opera, Chrome, Amazon browser, etc... plus it will make for a more consistent experience from a web development point of view. It's conceivable that it might lead me to use a Microsoft browser for a purpose other than installing some other browser. ;)
