When I try to open Microsoft Office Outlook (2007) I get an error message that says it cant be started a set of folders cannot be opened and errors have been detected in file

    C:\Users\a\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.pst

It advises that I use the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors.

How do I find this repair tool?

This Microsoft support page tells you where scanpst.exe is located on Windows 2K, Windows XP, Windows Vista & Windows 7. It also explains how to use it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287497

    First things first...

    >Do u have a PST file mapped to your outlook?
    >If so create a new outlook profile this will help you open outlook but PST will not be mapped.

Scanpst is used to repair your PST which is corrupted.

You can find scanpst in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 it is outlook 2010
