    Firstly i am sorry if i have posted this thread in wrong directory.

    The problem that i have is:

    I found the average of some numbers in excel and its OK the average is nothing wrong, but i want that if the average is beetwen 5 and 4.5 in cell to wrote "SOMETHING" if the average is betwen 4.4 and 3.5 to wrote "SOMETHINE ELSE" if the average is beetwen 3.4 and 2.5 to wrote "SOMETHING ELSE" and it is beetwen 2.4 and 1.5 to write "SOMETHING ELSE" in same cell. . .

    How can i do this.

    /I am sorry for my poor English.

    First Name:
    You put a formula instead of the average with a lot of IF then else

    This is a simple true or false

    =IF(AND(cell value >= 4.5, cell value < 5),"SOMETHING","SOMETHING ELSE")

    You will have to replace the "SOMETHING ELSE" part with another IF(AND(.....),"AGAIN SOMETHING","AGAIN SOMETHING ELSE")

    etc etc

    This is called nesting.

    You could use conditional format to color the cells
    Since you forgot to mention which version of Excel you use there is a limitation:

    Excel 2003 allows for only 3 conditional format options
    Excel 2007/2010 for a lot more.
