Ok this question is for DH.... He has a laptop from work. He has an email account from the business that will receive email when at home but he cannot send any it says

The TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server. (Account: 'mail.interkey.net', SMTP server 'mail.interkey.net', Error Number: 0x800cccof).

Ok what does this mean and why can't he send mail from home but can receive it. At the office he has no problem with either.

Sounds like a setting could be off, check the settings for your mail servers and make sure any logon credentials or server entries have been typed correctly. I know i had problems with outlook express at one point and i forget exactly what i hit but i changed a setting which fixed the entire thing.

I know this is going to sound dumb but we did not set it up so I have no idea what the settings could be :(

That is fine. Im assuming the company set it up? If that is the case then simply take it to the company's tech's and have them look everything over for you.
