Does anyone know how to get Microsoft Streets and Trips 2004 to function solely on the computer without having to use the CD. When I used the 2002 version of this software it automatically installed the program so that the CD was no longer needed.

I know that they (all the maps) used to have the ability to be installed but it is possible that newer versions are too large and they removed that functionality. Another option is to make a mirror image (bin/cue, iso, or nrg, for example) of the CD's and use an application like Alcohol to treat that image like a CD.

    Hope this helps,

I installed Streets and Trips 2004 complete with no problem. There is a window that asks If you want to install the complete program. I don't remember the exact wording. But the option IS there. Maybe try uninstalling it and then re installing.
    After a year I have a different problem. It's error code 6-40028-1073741819.
When it finds the right address, I click OK and the error note comes up and when I clear that note, It closes or restarts with the same problem.
