I was wondering, if I install this software on my corporate work computer, can the network admins see what guest OS'es I have running virtually? and can they see what software I install into these guest OS'es? Our corporate policy doesn't allow Windows XP SP2 but I am testing Visual Studio .NET 2005 which NEEDS service pack 2 installed. So I was thinking of using Virtual PC to make a guest Windows XP SP2 operating system and installing the VS Studio.net 2005 on this guest operating system... I just want to make sure that the network admins can't see that I am running virtual pc and another operating system.. as they wouldn't like this!

It doesn't matter whether or not the install is on a virtual PC or a physical PC. If the system isn't on the network, network admins can't see it. You can install Windows XP SP2 as a virtual PC, but as soon as you connect it to the company's network, the admins will see it as if it were a physical system.
