Hi, I've searched endlessly on the forums here, microsoft support, and any other technical support forum Google could direct me to and still have not found a solution. I'm not much of a computer guru, but hopefully i can explain my problem enough for you to help me. If i need to show any logs then please tell me how to and i'd be more than happy to help you help me.
    On to my problem.

While playing 1701 A.D. (it happens most often with this game, but with other games also) after anywhere from half hour to an hour my game locks up (i can still use the mouse and easily ctrl-alt-kill the program) and this message is displayed:[IMG]

I have vista on an Hp laptop DV9000 series laptop, my computer is more than strong enough to handle this game. There is also no chance it's over heating. Ive tried right clicking on the exe file and changing compatibility, it didn't make a difference. i downloaded new drivers but that might not have worked properly, i have to install them from hp and it never installs right. The problem existed before i tried to download a new driver and still exist. I also scanned my computer with Trend micro Anti Virus and spyware and have found no possible causes. If there is anything you need me to do please let me know. I appreciate your help.

So, i took it in to best buy, not really expecting anything great to happen, they gave me a few suggestions about changing the theme and other settings with my graphics card. None of it worked- not that i expected it to. SO back to the beginning, if you have any idea what it might be please let me know.
