I recently downloaded and installed Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2010, imagining it to be similar to Dreamweaver or Topstyle Pro. The installation completed successfully, but does not appear to have created an icon on my desktop by which I can access the program. I have checked my C drive for associated folders and see that several new additions have been added, including Microsoft Visual Studio 9, Visual Studio 10.0, Silverlight, SQL Server, ASP.NET, etc. etc.

Is it perhaps that these tools are only accessible by means of a web browser, or once installed on a server?

In my defence, I did have a bash at reading through the pre-installation notes on the website from which I downloaded the software, but this didn't seem to make things any clearer :(

    Any advice gratefully received.
