I have Microsoft Works Version 6.o which puts a checkbox titled "Microsoft Works Update Detection" into the "Startup" list in System Config utility.
I uncheck the box, reset the computer per the instructions, and the check box is gone... for a while.
For one reason or another (program bug??) it keeps putting a check mark back into the box.
Is there any way this can be turned off--without digging into the Registery.

    Hi Gary R,
Try right clicking the icon in the system tray and see if there is an options or something similar. Look for a box to check or uncheck to eliminate it from starting automatically. Some programs check these automatically.
