I've been upgrading my mid 2010 mac pro quadcore. I installed an NVME SSD, but I understand that it can't be used as a bootable drive without some finessing. I can't find a straight answer online as to how to make it a bootable drive or whether I need to order an AHCI M.2 SSD. I'm currently running on High Sierra latest verison. I can't update to Mojave without upgrading my GPU at the moment. Is there anyway to improve my SSD situation?

Also - does anyone have an answer for the max amount of ram a mid 2010 quadcore can fit? It has 4 slots. But do they make 16gb cards that fit those?

    Thanks for your time
