millenium install

    I am trying to replace missing files.After running restore cd and application loader comes up,I get a windows is now setting up your hardware and plug&pray devices.Then computer freezes at 12 minutes remaining.Anyone have any ideas on how to finish this reload?

    Yes...just leave it alone and let it do its thing :)

    Last time I reinstalled ME on this system, it took over 45 minutes to get past that part of the setup. Mouse would stop working for long periods, and I kept getting impatient and restarting. Finally I just said 'Hell with it' and left it alone...now it is running without a hitch.

    I had a similar problem which was fixed by unplugging all USB hardware that was not needed for installation and installed them later (printers etc.).

    Will try and leave it run again.Last time it ran for an hour and nothing happened.I will also unplug the mouse and keyboard(usb)
