Miracast on Windows 10 suddenly stopped working

Hi there!

I have an Intel NUC mini PC that I use to watch TV. I recently bought a projector for my balcony. I've been using the "connect to wireless display"/ Miracast facility and it was working great. ( I was genuinely surprised with how well it was working)

Yesterday I turn on the PC to discover Miracast is no longer working with no explanation.

I get the message "Your pc or mobile device doesn't support miracast so it can't project wirelessly".

I have checked everything that is on every forum / webpage I can find.

Update drivers - everything is up to date.
Reinstall drivers - no change
Disable firewall - no change
Add optional "Wireless display" feature - no change
Start UPnP Service Host service - no change
Reset PC - no change - surely this would have fixed something???

I then randomly restarted the "WLAN AutoConfig Service" it worked for a brief time, but then a few hours later it stopped working again and this fix didn't work anymore.

I tried to find the "Wireless Network (IEEE 802.11)" GPO policy to see it where was a wifi direct setting that was somehow off, but A, I couldn't find it. B, I saw a thread saying this shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Please help!! This is so stupid that there seems to be no change that caused it, I'm massively confused.

My display adaptor: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655
Network adaptor: Intel Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz
