I'm sorry if this problem has already been brought up in another thread, but I searched for a while without finding a similar problem. My computer has been giving me a problem where none of my programs except browsers can connect to the internet. I am running Windows XP. Firefox and IE connect fine, but nothing else can. The most notable example is AVG 9.0, which can't update its virus/spyware database. Other programs that can't connect are the Java updater and LauchpadEnhanced. Launchpad is a program that runs a Star Wars Galaxies emulater. I've checked the status of my firewall. I've made sure that all of these programs are on the list of exceptions. I've even turned off the firewall momentarily. None of these options worked. I've tried using some kind of winsock repairing program I was given, but it found no errors. I also tried going through the services and looking up the everything listed, but I didn't find anything helpful. The network connections status box tried to repair the connection, but found nothing wrong. I am currently connected to a router, but I have tried bypassing the router with no luck. If it helps at all, my computer is a Cisnet. I have a single Intel Celeron 3.06 GHz processor, 704 MB of RAM, and am running Windows XP Home Edition v. 2002 with Service Pack 3. I have had this problem for as long as I can remember, but I always thought it was due to the wireless network I had used. Now that I am attached to a landline, I want to fix this problem. Any help would be really appreciated.

I don't know if it's related, but I noticed that Lexbces.exe is one of the processes running. I thought I had stopped that process a while ago, but it seems to have started again on its own.

I also just noticed that "my web search" is listed in there. I thought I had successfully removed that as well. Whether or not it's related to my current problem, could anybody tell me how to get rid of it? Whenever I try to uninstall/remove/delete it, it just comes back somehow. I thought I'd gotten rid of it when I deleted it manually through linux. After that it hadn't shown up again, but apparently it's not completely gone. And I'd like to point out that COMODO should be gone as well. I had tried using it instead of windows firewall to fix the problem, but it didn't help, so I uninstalled it.

Sorry about the bad link. You can download and run the free version ( Perform a quick scan )of http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Let it fix what it finds. You need to post this log and the Malwarebytes log over at the Malware board where the techs can help you further. They may be very busy so please do be patient.

By malware board, do you mean a forum on the malwarebytes site, or a malware board on techguy.com?
