I have a computer running win8.1 which will not boot. I get a massage saying BootMgr is missing. I have tried doing a repair using the update installation disk without success. One option is to refresh the drive but this would mean loosing my installed programs. I was pprepared to suffer this but was then told that the disk was locked. Can I repair the missing BootMgr by any other means ? if not how do I unlock the drive?

Hello, did you enable Bitlocker on that drive? That is usually the case when you are prompted that the drive is locked. Can you confirm?
