Our CD-rom just stopped working :(

System properties says that its "working ok" but when we try to use it an error message says that it’s not there.

How should we fix something like this?

What does the error say specifically?

Does it say, "there is no disk in drive"
    or "drive not accessible"

Some cheaper cd-rom drives will read certain cds and not read others. Also it can take up to 30seconds for some drives to "spin up" so wait and try again and see. Also try other cd's, if none work your drive is probably toast and will need to be replaced.

If some work and some don't get a head cleaning disk and it might help.

    Good Luck

    It says it's not accessable.
