i logged onto my Toshiba laptop and it offered to install the latest version of internet explorer so i clicked install, when it was done, i was browsing the internet when a warning came up about something came unclean, and i clicked the optionto "clean computer" it did this several times. I then noticed that i had no task bar or desktop items, just the desktop gadgets such as the clock and calendar.

i then restarted the computer and as it restarted and logged in, i had the full and normal desktop untill a window opened saying that internet explorerwasn't working, i checked the internet connection and i had full connection. it then said it was trying to find the problem with a loading bar. when the window and everything else, but the gadgets, were gone from my desk top. Pressing the start button on the key board doesn't do anything, nor does right clicking with the mouse.

ctrl + alt + delete does work however

You have been infected with malware.

You need to post to the Virus & Other Malware Removal section of this site.

Before you do though, make sure to read THIS guide.

It sounds like you gave yourself an infection. By clicking to allow it to "fix" the problem, you probably just made it spread more.

Start with a good anti-virus and anti-malware scan and go to the Viruses and Malware forum if you need help getting cleaned up.

    (I'm too slow again.)
