When using either "Remote Desktops" or "Remote Desktop Connections" to
connect to my Windows XP machine I am missing the "Disconnect" button
from the Start menu. The only option I have is to "Log off xxxxx..."

As a result, when I exit Remote Desktop connections, it logs
my user off and all running applications are stopped. The next time
I log into the machine I have to restart everything.

I have also tried to press the "X" at the top/middle drop-down for the remote
screen but it still logs me off.

When a friend of mine connects to his Windows XP machine through
remote desktops he has a disconnect button. When he disconnects he is
able to re-connect at a later time with all his apps still running.

Does anyone know how to restore my missing Disconnect button? Is there a registry entry or group policy setting that needs to be changed?

Thanks.
