After installing cable modem drivers and restarting my computer I have found that my CD-ROM drive is missing. In MY Computer the D: icon is missing. I tried reinstalling windows from the CD but it is still not there. Any suggestions?

If it is still displayed when you power on the PC, the BIOS hardware list, try going into Safe Mode and delete the CD-ROM from Device Manger within Systems in the Control Panel. Then reboot and Windows should rediscover it and set it up.
