Out of blundering stupidity I deleted everything in folder "Downloaded Program Files" and most painful is the loss of YMMAPI.DLL which apparently governs e-mail that could be send from my web-site to me. I searched on the net for it but it seems that I need some enlightment from the Enlighted. Selftwisted by ignorance,Henryk.

You may need to remove and reinstall Yahoo Messenger to replace any actual dll's or ActiveX objects associated with it. That particular ActiveX object seems to be one of theirs.

Did you look to see if it's in your recycle bin, if you right click and restore it.

I don't have Yahoo Messenger but I will install it now to see if that will bring me the DLL I need. As to the good luck of finding the missing file in my recycle bin - no such good fortune: it has been emptied !

I installed the Messenger and no YMMAPI.DLL in it.

According to what I found it may instead be a Yahoo! Mail file:

    http://mail.yahoo.com/

    Does that ring any bells?

Certainly :it is Yahoo file that seems to govern opening yahoo mail window for sending messages from a "mailto"link. After Toni's suggestion I spend some time to search Yahoo Help and ended asking them for any assistance in finding the source for that elusive file{ windows\Downloaded~1\YMMAPI.DLL]
