I downloaded a game which didn't work. I got a message saying something about MSVCR100.dll. After googling this I found some fixes. I didn't try them, as I was worried that they might be dangerous. Can You recommend one please?

The file in question belongs to Microsoft Visual Studio which is shown as Microsoft Visual C++ xxxx redistributable (where xxxx represents the year of the version) in programs.

Check in your programs installed to see if you have any Microsoft Visual C++ xxxx redistributables listed there.

You had a similar question two years ago and the answer was to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 which you did so I assume you still have that version or perhaps you uninstalled it for some reason? Or the game requires a later version.

I think that it is OK now. I downloaded a file that microsoft suggested and it all seems OK. What a good memory you have. I had forgotten all about my previous foray into that territory. I will put my lack of memory down to age. Thanks once again.

I wish I could say I remembered but I have to admit I was searching for possible solutions when I came across your previous thread. :D

    Glad it's sorted now.
