missing file

    i'm trying to install my usb adsl modem but my computer's not having it. Apparently i need the file 'net7.cab'. Apart from getting it off someone elses pc is there any other way i can get it?

    You should find it under Windows\options\cabs on your hard disk...do a show all files first though.

    Alternatively if it's not there, use SFC to extract it from your Windows installation disk.

    That's the thing though, it's never been on my pc. I've checked all the cd's that came with my pc and it's not on any of them (i'm using Win ME). Is there no place to download it from (tried looking, can't find anywhere)? Any other options?

    Your right, I can't find a copy out there either.

    Your only other option would be to 'borrow' a full 98se or ME disk and extract it from that.

    Damn...,it is just-ever-so-slightly too large to e-mail. (1.55m)
    Perhaps one of the locals from this thread can raise you on a messenger and transfer it to you through that.

    You could split the contents of the file up and send it multiple parts!
    I offered by Pm, but he's not come back to me as yet.
