Missing Google Earth msi file

I was having trouble with Google Earth and uninstalled all components. I tried a re-install but it downloaded then when a little way in the message Missin Google Earth msi file.
I have tried Widows installer cleanup facility and againt tried to install Google Eart but the same message came up missing msi file.
Microsoft help wanted a reinstall of XP to fix the problem.
I have a Dell Dimension 5150 2 years old running Windows XP Home edition

Any suggestion would be gratefully received.

I would make sure you do a complete uninstall of the program and remove all traces of it from your computer, such as using CCleaner to clean up after the uninstall. Then download again and reinstall

How do I uninstall Google Earth?
