missing hard drive

    Hope some one can help
    I have a amd 2.6 64 bit system, 1 gig ram some tv ati video card running Xp pro

    two days ago i unplugged both my hard drives and connected a hard drive with Vista on it, it wouldnt see the drive so i unplugged it and replaced the conectors.The computer now only see's the primary master and not the secondary master, have tried looking for it in the management console, unplugging and restarting, but to no avail....any help would be well appreciated

    I would check the device manager to see if the secondary controller is recognized and has it's driver loaded. If it's shown in the device manager it could be that the secondary controller was accidently disabled in the ROMBIOS.

    have tried to look in device manager and the drive is not listed at all

    Johnhe, thanks for your suggestion and i have looked in the device manager and the secondary ide controller is there and enablbed
