    hi, i have this problem n couldn't find out any solution on internet

    i designed an html newsletter, with relative paths for images, just left 'em in the same folder as the html, and all sources point right there, example <img src="pixel.gif">

    i send the mail (selecting my html as stationary) and when it arrives, it looks like lost some images.

    strange stuff:

    all images have same path but just some of em are shown: "if i use same image twice it just appears only the first time i use it"

    i guess outlook express makes some trouble while it sends the mail, 'cos if i select the "source code" or "preview" tab before sending the e-mail, everything is ok, all images are shown.

    tryed to use absolute path for all images, "c:/program files/... etc" but happened exactly the same.

    any idea? :confused: thanxs. fade

    I could be stating the obvious here, but have you actually uploaded the images to a server then pointed your html to that address or do they reside on your hard drive ?

    Edit:

    This would seem to point to the images being on your own hard drive, you will need to upload them to a server if you want other people to see them.

    sure, like i told you, i have images in same folder of html in my hard disk

    i need to send em with mail cos most of my clients have dial up and when they get desconected they would lost part of the newsletter

    option 1. i use relative paths pointing html to its same folder, so no path needed <img src="pixel.gif">

    option 2. i use absolute paths pointing html to my local drive n folders till i get to the same folder

    <img src="C:/Program Files/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/Stationery/newsletter/pixel.gif">

    both works before sending email and all images are well shown in preview mode, and code is still the same i wrote

    but when i send it then it happens what i told you, images that i use twice or more, only appears one time

    outlooks changes path when embeeds images, dunno what it does.

    ive seen some strange stuff now,

    when outlook embeeds images it replaces src with some long cid:something

    sample
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    src="cid:[email protected]"

    thats is exactly one of my images with no problem

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    src="cid:[email protected]"

    this one is one that i dont see, same as the first one but notice it embedded in a different way, it uses some stuff that gets from i dont know where after "@" and something is getting wrong with repeated images

    yes, my name is soledad, so its getting my name from some place, outlook, etc.

    ill appreciate any help, i cant understand this

    i guess this wont happen to my client when he got to send the newsletter but need to know it in any case

    thanx sol

    almost get lost following what you gave and another forum at annoyances.org but find out something

    firs im not using win 98, im under 2000 and couldn find any "330994" stuff with a simple search on the disk, i didnt have hotpix either, so i was giving up while i read someone got tired and desinstalled n reinstalled outlook express...

    so, i made something stupid and went to add/remove programs and found an "Outlook Express Update Q330994", eureka!

    didnt see it while i went there looking for hotpix, or windows updates, or any strange program

    dunno how it got installed, cos i never did

    i guess it could came with ie6 or win2000 service pack 4.0...

    well, im gonna try removing it and i tell you, hope it gets to older version as it says and wont stop OE working

    thanx for help given. seeya. fade
