I didnt get a set up disk with the computer and i cant even get into windows. I tried booting with another hard drive that i have that has windows 98 on it but the entire hard drive with windows xp is not entirely recognized (the hard drive is somehow divided in to c and d because the computer manufacturers didnt want you to mess with part of it) is there any way that i can get into the hard drive so i can at least recover my data then reformat the hard drive?

I thought maybe this might have been caused when i tried to change to boot screen but i know i didnt mess with that specific file
