Missing sys fire

    tried a reinstall of XP Home Edition and the set up reports missing file,

    as7qpxmh.sys

    1. what is it
    2. how do I find it
    3. how do I install once I have it

    part of an ongoing issue with the PC @ the moment I feel

    see my other posts for those as they maybe related

    have googled for it but no luck I'm afraid

    It doesn't appear to be a valid Microsoft XP file. What XP Home CD are you using? One from Microsoft, or a manufacturers restore CD?

    Are you installing from the booted CD? Try installing from outside Windows since this method is preferable in nearly all cases.

    from XP Home SP2 disc

    ??? How, I'm a bit of a novice

    There is no file on an XP Home CD with the name "as7qpxmh.sys". So I am perplexed why Setup is complaining it cant copy it.

    Boot from the CD and then follow the installation prompts.
