I've been using my computer as a mobile hotspot for my devices (iPhone and iPad) but it stopped working and is showing to have "No Internet Connection" on my iPhone when I try to connect, despite my computer having no problems connecting with the internet.
I tried troubleshooting the Network Adapter and in the Network and Sharing Center but the troubleshooter couldn't find anything to fix.
I've tried all the settings adjustments in the forums as well - all the sharing boxes are deselected, the wifi access point was restarted, the device has been disabled and then enabled, all the drivers are up to date.....I'm trying to connect on a computer that does NOT have mobile hotspot access without an adapter, so I have a little usb adapter that's been working fine for over a year.
Note: I'm on an ethernet internet connection, not a wifi one, and for some reason my computer is refusing to pick up the wifi signal even though my phone can.
When I double click on my Local Area Connection, it says "IPv6 Connectivity: No network access" It also says this on my ethernet connection.
I haven't fiddled with any network settings, so I have no idea why this just suddenly started happening.
I may not be able to supply a solution, but it could help someone else to help you if you gave us some more information about your computer. We have an easy way for you to do so. Here is a link to the TSG System Info utility. You just download and run it. It does not need to be installed. Copy the results paste the output in a reply in this thread. This will tell us what motherboard you are using and what version of Windows is running, as well as a few other software and hardware detail.
I am a bit confused about your use of the phrase, "Mobile Hotspot". I thought it referred to using a smartphone or similar device having a cellular data connection to the Internet and then other devices use WiFi or USB connections through the smartphone to connect to the Internet. From some of your description of your setup, it sounds like you are using your computer as a non-cellular WiFi Hotspot. What are the brand and exact model number of the USB adapter that you mention?
Hi - sorry, it's just a hotspot. I'm using my computer's ethernet connection and a USB adapter (TP Link Archer T2U Nano) to create a hotspot for my phone to connect to.

When you say your computer has no problems connecting to the Internet, am I safe to assume that means that you can use its web browser to visit sites, including this one, on the Internet?
Can you please run an IPCONFIG /ALL command from a command screen on the computer and then copy the full results and paste them in a post here?
Does the Windows Hardware Device Manager show any errors or warnings for the Ethernet port or the USB WiFi adapter?
Did you happen to notice if there was a Windows update just prior to the problems occurring?
Yes! I am using the same computer to get on the internet currently - the ethernet connection seems to be working fine.
I didn't notice if there was an update or anything, no. The Network & Sharing shows a red x on the Wifi, but I assumed that's because it is not connected to a wifi signal, due to my internet being connected via ethernet.
I don't know why--maybe some Windows 10 special "feature"--but your USB wireless adapter is not connected and there is a virtual adapter sharing the internet access (acting as the hotspot).
Ah, delightful. Well, I broke down and downloaded a third party app to run a hotspot, so that ended up solving my problem in a roundabout way. Thank you for your help!
