Hi, Im posting for my brother who lives in Erie PA. He recently had to get a new mobaord and power supply.. HE got back his machine and was told that his old modem was fried from the problem with his power supply and baord.. He got a mainboard k7s5a pro board. now he went out and bought a new modem. put it in, and the comp wont boot.. so he takes it out and all works fine. in bios it says that he has 97 modem enabled on board so he disabled. also he made sure that plugin play was enabled, still wont boot with modem in.. he has no other cards besides geforce2 mx 400 on his agp slot. also there is no onbaord modem. My question is does anyone know how to fix or have had same problem/

    thx dave

Chances are about 50-50; it could be a faulty modem or a faulty board. I would recommend you try another modem. If you get the same result, take the board back where you got it.

Also have him try another slot on the motherboard.
