modem will not connect

    gdya, have conected my ADSL modem to my pc, and it wont work, i spoke to bigpond staff, went through a heap of trouble shooting and they've told me i need a driver, i just dont know which driver im in need of, and cant find anything realy

    so my computer is (i think) an AMD Athlon 64, if that makes any sense. please help, cheers!

    Not enough information. Your ISP should be able to be much more specific if they provided the modem.

    Hiya jturn.

    In concurrence with DH, there`s not much information to go on but we`ll try. Did you get a CD with the modem package originally? If you did, that`ll probably have the drivers on it.

    Can you tell us the name and model number of the modem ... it`ll be stamped on the back of it I would think.

    As far as the connection to the internet is concerned, the user name and password is something you`ll have been given by your ISP and isn`t something we can advise you on. If you don`t know it or have forgotten it, you`ll have to talk to them again.

    If the modem connects via Ethernet, you don't need any drivers for it. That's why we need more information. I wouldn't stick a CD in the computer until we've gathered more information.
