I have an Intel 3200 modem that won't install. I installed Win Me and then Win XP on my machine. When I now try to install the Intel 3200 in XP, I get the same error message every time- dslinstaller not found. XP does not detect the modem and it is not listed in Add/Remove programs. MSN says I need to check with my machine maker and have the root hub reinstalled. They only way that can be done is to reinstall the Win Me that came with the machine says the maker. My root hub IS listed under USB in device manager. Has anyone had this nightmare before?

Thanks Hairy for the response. I would have responded sooner but !surprise! I'm having trouble with my modem. You mentioned installing XP drivers on the motherboard. The XP installation disk should do this right? Is there another method? Thx again.

"The XP installation disk should do this right?"......
nope

did you check if your computer was XP compatible before you upgraded?

if you know your motherboard manufacturer and model, go there for newer drivers
