Saw a post by melaineH on 06 may 2003 ,same deal.I've swap a good monitor ,and added a video card in place of built-in, no change. i know Emachine have a power supply problem, could this be the problem?

This wont be realted to your power supply. I also know of the emachines psu problems, i saw so many come back when i worked at pc world.

Keep hitting F8 when your PC boots up, then select enable vga mode, or words to that effect.

If that doesnt work, attempt to reinstall winxp, if you still dont have any luck.. dont buy emachines again :D

If possible try installing another operating system like win200 or 98 just to test.
