I have a westinghouse 22'' LCD monitor. I have had it for 3-4 yrs. Recently purchased a re-furbished Dell Otiplex 745 from Geeks.com. Yesterday I cut on the computer but the screen was fading gray at the top and black at the bottom. I unplugged it for awhile and it worked ok. Today same issue excepts the screen fickers from transparent to normal with every mouse click. It there any way for me to use my laptop screen to check if its the monitor or the computer. I have an HP laptop with a 19" screen.

No. You can't input video to a laptop.

Have you tried connecting that Westinghouse monitor to a different desktop or connecting a different monitor to that Dell desktop so you can confirm if the problem is with the monitor or with that Dell desktop?

no I have not tried either because I don't have another desktop or monitor to test. I see if I can get a monitor just to try and see if its the monitor or computer.
    Thanks
