Just a simple question regarding splitter cable to have dual monitors from one port video card.
Recently bought two monitors of the same that wanted to be run off from one tower. Only have 1 video port, so bought a splitter cable. Both monitors are showing the same thing. What I really wanted is to have one as primary, the other secondary. So that I can work with many programs. Is it possible for two same monitors with splitter cable?

Look through several sites, and none offered really good solution.

    Thanks for all suggestions. (y)

With a splitter cable both monitors will always have the same display. To have an extended desktop you'll need to get a video card with dual output.

What kind of computer or motherboard do you have? You can get a video card that doesn't cost that much and it's pretty easy to install.

A dual-head video card is fairly cheap if you don't need really high performance, that's the way to get dual monitor support.
