Anyway, although its now working on my laptop (given up for PC) i can't connect to the internet, I'm on Ubuntu and my card is 'Ralink wireless LAN card V2'.

I'm detecting the network and that im getting a signal i just cant connect.

Ubuntu is much faster and aesthetically pleasing by the way :p than windows

What happens when you try to connect? How, specifically, are you trying to connect? Are you getting an IP?

Well, at the top right hand corner i have the option to view wireless networks, i click on mine (Jlever01) which is currently showing...past the fourth line and select it. i then, on hovering over the chart that appears am told "Wireless network connection to 'Jleve01' (100%)
Also i have 'enable netowrking' and 'enable wireless' ticked when it is right clicked.
On System>Administration>Network i have the following

    [-] Wireless connection
    Roaming mode enabled
    [-]Wired connection
    Roaming mode enabled
    [-]Modem connection
This network interface is not configured

I did move the cable from my desktop to the laptop and it works fine... just wireless that seemingly isnt.

    Thanks
