Hi, I'm borrowing a friends username so plz ignore the username!

I was downloading a file the other day on morpheus, and i decided to get off the phone line, so i closed morpheus, without actually clicking pause on the download.

I went back later, and the download had dissapeared, along with the 180mb DAT file that stored the info for it. I recovered the dat file using drive rescue, but morpheus just dleted it whenever i put it back in the 'My shared folder'. I have tried uninstalling & Reinstalling morpheus without any luck.

I wouldnt mind but it was 150mb/192mb of a file, and on a 56k modem, that takes a hell of a long time!!!! :(

    Any ideas??? :)

    Hiya

I'm not 100% sure, but you may need to redownload again. If you have the dat file in the original file, just point Morpheus to the same file location on the web, and see if it will resume the download. If not, it may have to be the full download.

I'm not sure i get ya there m8, i can't resume from websites coz morpheus is shared between users not from websites!?!

The program i was trying to download was an exe file, and i was 150/190mb through it, when i closed morpheus, and the file dissapeared from the 'Traffic' list on morpheus. To allow you to resume the download, morpheus uses .Dat files to store the data from the download, but the dat file for this download had disspaeared from the hard disk. Morpheus usually deletes these files if it thinks the download has been cancelled, but in this case, it had deleted it when i hadn't cancelled it.

I recovered the .dat file using disk recovery, I placed the file back into the morpheus folder and presumed things would be back to normal. However, morpheus deleted the file as soon as i tried running the morpheus application!!!

I presume that this 180mb file has a special string contained in it that tells morpheus that it needs to be deleted because the download was cancelled, but i don't know how to remove it or if there is any other way around it!?!

    Okay

What I was thinking was, when you type the name of the file in Find in Morpheus, will it not come up with the same user that you downloaded it from?

If not, then it may be lost. As for removing the string, thats more on the programming side. No idea on that part.

    Sorry

I see what ya mean now, but i doubt it, coz the resume hinges on the details in that damn Dat file :( I don't even know how you can remove any of that string anyway, even if it did exist, because it's 180mb, and even on my fairly powerfull computer it would take years to load in wordpad and the amount of data would be huge!

I just wish there was some kind of technical support for morpheus, coz i cant access the forums 4 sum reason, and it says you should go there if you have problems!!!

    thanks anyway!

I think I read that Morpheus was ordered to shut down....one problem...while the website may be shut down...the software is peer to peer, so they can't shut it down, however that may be why the links are dead ! Just a theory..Rhett
