I'm trying to run Morpheus on a college system. The problem is the system denies the program access to write registry keys for ConnectionInfo and for LocalContent. When I get onto morpheus and search for a song the program just sits there and says connecting... and it will never connect. Is there any way to circumvent this blockade to my mp3 windfall?

you have to tell it your behind a firewall and use socks 5 and also let the firewall no it's ok to let info from this program in and out dont think we can help there though probably have to see your sys ops about that

I think it's probably more likely that your college is blocking connections to Morpheus. There's very good reasons for this. It uses a lot of bandwidth, and it takes away bandwidth from students trying to do research for reports and things. It is also illegal to download copyrighted material, and Morpheus offers a lot of that. The college could get sued if it allows students to download songs like that.

i don't know if this helps but for some reason my version connected and only found 14 or so users, but i managed to download 2 songs and all of sudden it went way up!

What i am trying to say is put a couple of songs in your shared folder and it may let you connect.

This was just probbably a co-incident though, sorry i couldn't be of much help!

There's also lots of viruses rolled into all those free files out there, another headache your school's network people don't need. (I went to my girfriend's college comp lab with her the other day, a few systems there were shut off with a little note on screen - VIRUS)
