    Hey guys
i have a compaq presario SR1610NX Recently i shorted out my mother board while doing a proccessor trade out (trust me the proccessor is compatable as the computer did run for a while after the switch). anyway i called up compaq and they say that my mother board was discontinued and they tried to sell me a whole new tower. i need a compatible replacement. im using a AMD Athlon 64 3700 proccessor.
    Please Help Me- Dr. Feelgood

i think most compaq/Hp are made specially for the box - they also have special connectors on the PSU sometimes - so it may be difficult to replace

can you see any make or model numbers on the motherboard

what type of connections are they to the PSU perhaps it is a standard ATX

no its more the internal connections - the plug that goes from the Powersupply into the motherboard and the way the board fits into the box and is bolted down
    MS-7184 possible a MSI board
looks like a standard ATX connection - but would not be sure

does it look like the one described ?
see if MSI will supply a board or can advise
