I currently have a few-years-old Compaq Presario 5000 with an Athlon 1600 (1.3GHz clock) that I've decided could use an upgrade.
The mother board is a Compaq 07C0h.
I'm wondering where/how I can find out what type of processor socket this uses, and what other restrictions there are on what sort of processor I can give it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Main Circuit Board:
Board: Compaq 07C0h
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Compaq 786K8 10/10/2001

Unfortunately its not enough info to ID the motherboard.

Could be a Trigem "Sante Fe", an Anco or ....

You may need to open it up and scour the motherboard for better ID.

Kiwi would good old Everest maybe help WannaB out? Well here it is anyway Mr Geek: http://www.lavalys.com/
Hope it gives you some more data on your board, or maybe you've already pulled the side and found some more data?
