I'm thinking of buying a new hard drive and want to make sure my motherboard will support it.
    I have a ECS K7S5A MoBo and I'm looking a buying a :

Hitachi Deskstar 7K80 80GB Hard Drive (Serial ATA II, 7200, 8MB)
Interface: SATA II (Serial ATA II)
Interface Type: Serial ATA - 7 pin
    Rotational Speed: 7200 RPM
    Cache Size: 8 MB
    Maximum Transfer Rate: 3 Gbps
    Access Time: 8.8 ms

    Any help would be appreciated.
I just don't want to have to return it.

    Thanks,

    Rob :)

That board has no SATA support, sorry.
You'll want to go ultra 100(EIDE)
