    With those numbers you cannot tell who the Mobo manufacturer is.

    P4X266

    6A6LW
    Then scroll to the number......

    The above only define the Chipset.

    Have you cracked the case open and looked for identification on the board itself?

    I know you have tried sis sandra and aida32 but why not see if Belarc finds something.

    Other than that maybe it can be tracted down through make and model of computer if it is not custom built. Are you sure there is absolutly no numbers on the motherboard itself, front or back? Sometimes they are rather small and somewhat hidden. I realize viewing the back is difficult but if nothing is defined on the front then back may be your only possiblity.

    Can you post what AIDA32 listed under the following places:
    Computer -> DMI -> System
    Computer -> Sensor -> Motherboard Name
    Motherboard -> Motherboard -> Motherboard ID and Motherboard Name
    Motherboard -> Bios -> Award Bios Message

    Also is this a Brand name computer?

    From what I can tell it was made by Wintec/Edom, you can't get to either site so they are probably defunk.

    Another possible spelling is Wintac, I find reference to both, either way they are nowhere to be found.

    Why do need to update the BIOS? BIOS updates should only be done to fix specific issues and you definitely don't want to be trying a BIOS update on a board you can't identify.

    Maybe you can use the FCC ID or Serial Number to identify it: http://www.plasma-online.de/index.htmll
