    hi
    I have a ASUS P5N-D

the motherboard speaker beeps once each time I turn my computer on.
    is 1 beep okay ??

I looked for a beep code list in my manual but couldn't find one.
I went to ASUS. I couldn't get there "faq" support section to list one.
    kept saying no results found.

are most beep codes similar across all mobo makers???
in Google I did find where one forum had listed 1 beep as a memory
    refresh rate error
but it was posted in 2002. so I figured it was out of date,

when I turn my computer on the ASUS id page comes up and then the setup
page moves so fast I can't read it.
    then windows starts.

the setup page just flickers on the screen for a second before the windows vista logo
    pops up.
the only thing I can recognize wile setup page flicks on and off is the yellow energy label
    that's only a yellow blur.

OK, what exactly is your problem?
The only thing I see is that you have a single beep [very normal] many board makers have their boards make a single beep for a successful post.

    you answered my question.
I just got to wondering if one beep was normal

my build seems to be working fine. the only thing was the single beep.
    got me to wondering.

A single beep is used by many board makers to signal a successful post.
