    Hi friends,
I've an AMD 3000+ 64bit processor mounted on a K8MM-V motherboard from MSI.
This MB supports DDR RAM, and now a days DDR is getting more & more expensive compared to DDR2 RAMs.

Thus I'm thinking of upgrading the MB which supports DDR2 RAM, while retaining the processor.

Now I've a few doubts on it:
    1. Is it possible to do so?
    2. Does the newer MB which support the new processors, like X2, etc are also compatible to this older Athlon 64bit processor?
    3. Can someone give me a link where I can find for compatible motherboards to my processor and also support DDR2 RAMs?

Moreover, any other tips in this regard would be highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for any help.

For ddr2 support you need an am2 socket board. There are no socket 754 boards with ddr2 support. In fact socket 754 boards are getting somewhat scarce as well.

I think it is time for an upgrade either to socket am2 [if you want to stay with amd] OR an intel socket 775.
