Due to a recent disaster I am in the market for a new motherboard. I'm waiting for the tech guy's diagnosis on whether the the MB or the CPU are dead or both. Had a major power supply problem. I expect it to be at least the motherboard.
If CPU survived it is a P3-700. The store guy said that decent P3 boards are getting hard to find. Majority of boards for socket-370 are micro-atx designed for Celerons with integrated audio/video. Would rather plug in existing sound and video cards.
Any recommends on available boards?
Also if both died and I am shopping for a MB/CPU combo, what's good? I am looking for stability over speed and don't want to have to play around with drivers (memories of a K6-2 system) any more than necessary. The pocketbook says that 800-1000 mhz would be fast enough.
Happy 2002 to all!!
