Not sure if this is the wrong forum for this question, so I'll apologize in advance if it is!

Have an HP laptop running Vista home edition on it. I recently installed AVG virus scanning on it, after running the un-install for norton as i found it was slowing things down too much. I'm guessing this has messed things up somehow and norton hadn't been fully removed or whatever, because now when the computer boots I have no use of the mouse or keyboard. It's not a hardware issue, I can use the mouse and keyboard in the HP recovery screen and bios etc, just not in windows, windows safe mode, windows command prompt etc.

Anyone have a solution for me? I'm tired of waiting on the help line !

    Thanks,
    Sabar

You should see a similar problem here: http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Windows/XP/Q_20803165.html

The conclusion that they arrived at was that since you cannot interface with the system you will need to either perform a repair install or completely reinstall Windows. The first will keep your programs and files and the latter will erase everything on the system making it like new again.
