This problem occurs across the board: with icons on the Desktop and on the Taskbar, and with buttons inside browsers, e-mail apps, etc. I click, and sometimes the icon or button changes color momentarily, sometimes the window or whatever's supposed to open flashes on the screen momentarily, then disappears, but nothing opens. Sometimes it'll eventually open after a minute or so, sometimes after 5 minutes or longer, but frequently nothing ever opens. It seems to be worse after startup; it's like the computer takes 5 or 10 minutes to warm up and then it works a little better, but only a little.

I've just reinstalled Windows 10; the Startup menu is stripped down, and I don't have a lot of junk programs running in the background. Task Manager isn't very informative, since the numbers jump around so much, but everything that's running looks like OS components. Makes me think it's a hardware issue, but I'll repost this over in the Windows 10 forum. Thanks.

Please don't post in another forum, it's much better to stick with a single thread for a single problem.

Are you using the touchpad or do you have a mouse attached?
If the touchpad, did you install the motherboard drivers when you reinstalled Windows?

If a mouse, is it wired or wireless and what brand and model? Have you tried a different mouse?

Post the exact model of Lenovo and I might be able to point you to the driver downloads for your model.

Turn the Laptop over and post the model number printed on the Lenovo label. That motherboard might have been used in several models of laptops with different hardware inside.
