Hi! My mom has an HP Pavilion computer that is about 4 yrs old. Connected to it is an HP Deskjet 840C printer and a Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse (both are USB devices). Every time she tries to print something the mouse cursor freezes on screen and the optical laser shuts off. Unplug and replug the mouse and the laser comes back on and its fine until the next time you print. She is running Windows XP, has the latest drivers for all components, and it freezes with or without the Logitech software installed. Any ideas as to what would cause this? Thx!

How does the printer connect? USB or Parallel?
How does the mouse connect? USB or PS2?

If they are both USB, it could be a port power problem (not enough power available from the USB root hub for both devices)

You can get a USB/PS2 adapter and plug the mouse to PS2.
