I lost my computer to a blue screen. An IT guy got it running, but the
first time I booted from home, It went into this boot loop. I was
able to get to a command prompt and run some type of diagnostics.
This got me out of the loop, but when I now boot and get to
the password screen, my mouse and keyboard don't work and I can't
    get any further.

I can boot from a separate diagnostic program and the mouse and keyboard work as long as the diagnostic program is running. Once I
leave it and continue the boot process, the mouse and keyboard quit
working again. They both plug into a usb port.

    Any suggestions? Thanks

My son is having this issue with his computer, I think I am going to reload it, but you might want to try getting a PS2 mouse and keyboard. In the device manager he is missing the mouse drivers, by the way his keyboard does work. I tried to run SFC /scannow, but nothing changed. Hope this helps.

Since neither my keyboard nor mouse works, I can't even get onto my system to check drivers. If you think PS2 connections will work,
I'm going to give this a try. For the time-being, I'm sitting here with a $1,500 piece
    of junk.

    I certainly appreciate your response.
