I've just recently purchased a system within a week only to find that my wired optical mouse has stopped working correctly. It sporadically moves from place to place and at times is completely unresponsive. The weird thing is that every once in a while, the power on the mouse completely turns off (no light coming from it). I am certain the USB mouse works as it has been tested in another computer.

I have already reformatted my HDD and reinstalled Windows XP home to no avail. Also, my mouse doesn't immediately turn on when the PC does, which leads me to believe Windows is at fault. The last thing I did before it started messing up is update my drivers for my motherboards and install the nForce3 System Utility as well as turn up my RAM speed settings from 333 to 343.

AMD 64 3000+ (slightly overclocked for a few hours, but decided it wasn't worth it. Reset all BIOS settings afterward)
    DFI LanParty nForce3 250Gb Socket 754 Motherboard
    Windows XP Home Edition
    512x1MB RAM
    eVGA Geforce 5700LE 256MB
    20GB HDD
    DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
    400W Power supply
Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit sound card

Anyone know what is wrong? It's brand new!! :(

Had problems with my Logitech optical mouse, updated the drivers and that solved the problem.
