Do not remember exactly when it started but here is the problem. Whenever I am on the computer my mouse cursor sometimes "blinks out" and pops instantly to another part of my screen. It's not really a huge problem but it is rather annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Oh... Almost forgot. I am running win98se.

First, try removing the ball and cleaning it and the contacts inside.

Then.

Go to start>settings>control panel>system>device manager tab>click on view device by type>scroll down to mouse> click the plus>right click on the entry>go to driver tab>update drivers from your cabs directory>right click and remove mouse> reboot.

Then this.

Unplug the mouse, reconnect and restart the computer.

And finally.

Well, what can I say? It worked! Thank you very much. Your directions were very easy to follow. Once again I thank you.

Ahh... no more fights with my mouse!
