I run on WINDOWS XP Home Edition on a DELL Dimension 3000, 1gb ram, Nvidia Geforce 5500 FX OC , 2.39 ghz and whenever my computer loads up too much, (WoW alone/City Of Villians alone/ Limewire with the combination of utorrent) my mouse will freeze, but I can still move it. It's hard to explain, like the animation will freeze, but my cursor will go invisible and move around and still be able to move/click but I can't see it. Whenever I go over something that makes the cursor animation change, it changes so its not permanently frozen.

My mouse is a DELL mouse (Says HID Compliant Mouse and HID Compliant Wheel Mouse)

Please help, want to play these games.

I just ran an anti-virus scan and hijackthis to get my information for any known viruses, I see a SurfSidekick virus, but I don't believe that has anything to do with it. (It did it before I had this.)

before we can consider dealing with it

I see that you don't have Hijackthis in a permanent folder. This needs to be done before we "fix" any entries in Hijackthis.
Please download Mosaic1's Move_hijackthis.zip from Here

Choose "Open" from the dialog box.
When the zip opens, you'll see a file named Move hijackthis.vbs in the folder.
Double click on Move hijackthis.vbs to run it.

If you get a warning about a malicious script please ignore that and allow this to run, it is not harmful.

When the script has finished running, it will start Hijackthis from its new location:
    C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\hijackthis.exe
the next time you want to run it either go to C:\Program Files\Hijackthis
    [or]
Click Start >Run and type hijackthis and press "enter".

Post a fresh HJT log BUT NOT in a quote box please

Hi and welcome. You should really consider uninstalling Limewire.

It is a source of many problems, other than the fact that it's mostly used for stealing music, programs, etc.

first uninstall surf sidekick from add/remove programs if there
    then

go to start/run and type services.msc press OK
when the screen opens scroll down to Command Service right click and select properties and then on that page press stop service and then set the start up type to disabled, press ok a few times to get back to windows

be very careful to get the right one as there are several similar named ones there

now open HJT press config/misc tools and select delete an NT service

paste this into the box & press OK

    cmdService

Download pocket killbox from http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/killbox.exe & put it on the desktop where you can find it easily

Run hijackthis, put a tick in the box beside these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

we took a load of viruses & rubbish out but there still could be more there

It could be drivers but I stilll suspect more malware

How much RAM have you got and what are you running when this happens

does it freeze all the time or only under load
